If you’ve ever looked into booking a boudoir session and thought “wow… that’s more $$$ than I expected,” you’re not alone. As a Montana boudoir photographer, I want to talk honestly about pricing, value, and why boudoir is truly an investment …..not just a photo session!
The Boudoir Investment
Let’s talk about it.
Boudoir is not your average photo session.
It’s not your yearly family photos.
It’s not something you just casually book on a whim.
It’s an investment.
Not Just Photos — An Experience
Boudoir is meant to be a luxury experience.
Think of it like:
- A Chanel purse
- Hair extensions
- A personal trainer
- Or… if you’re like me… a horse (or two 😏)
These aren’t things you need…
they’re things you invest in because of how they make you feel.
And boudoir?
It’s the same thing.
Why It’s Worth It
Rolling off what I talked about in my last blog , boudoir isn’t for anyone else.
It’s for YOU.
And for most women, it becomes:
- A reset
- A confidence boost
- A full-on transformation
I’ve seen it time and time again. And honestly?
These sessions can be a little addicting…
(but in the best way)
Because that feeling you get after? It doesn’t just last for a day.
It sticks with you for:
- Days
- Weeks
- Months
And some women come back again and again… because once you feel that version of yourself, you want more of it.
Let’s Talk About the Price Tag
I know when some people see boudoir pricing… their first thought is:
“WTF!?”
And I get it. I really do. But here’s the thing…
We think nothing of dropping money on:
- Clothes
- Hair
- Material things
But when it comes to investing in ourselves? That’s where we hesitate.
Knowing MY Worth
I’ll be honest , I used to go back and forth with my pricing all the time.
I would second guess it. Get nervous putting it out there.
Feel that pit in my stomach when someone asked… and then went silent.
Crickets.
But over time, I’ve:
- Invested in workshops
- Upgraded my equipment
- Built a space to create in
- Spent years learning posing, lighting, and the full experience
And my work? It stands out. I know that now.
And truthfully… I’m still on the lower end of boudoir pricing compared to many photographers.
Some start where my highest package ends.
Others are lower. And that’s okay. There’s a photographer for everyone.
Choosing the Right Photographer
But here’s the most important part:
👉 Don’t choose based on price alone.
Because if you book someone cheaper…
but don’t love their work…
That experience can actually do the opposite of what you’re hoping for.
Boudoir should build you up , not tear you down.
Make sure you:
- Connect with their style
- Trust their posing
- Feel safe in their energy
Because that matters more than anything.
The Clients Who Say Yes
What changed everything for me… Was the women who said YES.
The ones who:
- Trusted me
- Invested fully
- Went all in on the experience
And after?
They didn’t hesitate for a second.
They told me:
👉 “This was worth every penny.”
👉 “I would do this again in a heartbeat.”
That’s when I knew. This isn’t just photography.
Making It Work
If you’ve been wanting to book a session…
but the price feels intimidating…
I get it. I really do.
That’s why I offer:
- Payment plans
- Flexible options
- The ability to pay over time
I have women who:
- Pay it off over a year
- Or book and then do payments after
Because I never want money to be the thing that fully stops you.
Why Boudoir Isn’t Cheap
Boudoir is a luxury for a reason.
Behind every session, there’s:
- Time
- Experience
- Equipment
- Studio space
- Lighting
- Styling
- Energy
And most importantly… Years of learning how to make you look and feel your best.
It all adds up.
If I’m Not in Your Budget
And I want to say this honestly…
If I’m not in your budget — I completely understand 🤍
Truly.
But if you’re on the fence…
or trying to figure out a way to make it work…
Reach out.
I’m always willing to:
- Chat
- Work within your budget when I can
- Find a way that feels good for both of us
Because at the end of the day…
This experience?
It’s something every woman deserves at least once.
